Workflow status — not a hiring decision
Built for recruiting & staffing teams
One candidate. One request.
The checks you need.
Identity verification is the front door. Employment and driving-record checks follow as add-ons, so a recruiter picks exactly what a role requires — and pays for what they use.
Identity verification
Is this candidate really who they claim to be?
A secure, mobile-first check that confirms the candidate matches the identity they present.
Employment verification
Did they actually work where and when they say they did?
Request and return a permitted employment record through a qualified data provider.
Driving record (MVR)
Is the license valid, and what does the permitted driving record show?
A role-specific motor vehicle record request for positions where driving matters.
Education verification
Did they attend or graduate from the institution claimed?
Confirm attendance and degrees with the issuing institution or its authorised provider.
Professional license
Is the claimed professional credential current and valid?
Check that nursing, trade and other professional licenses are current with the issuing board.
From request to result in three connected steps.
Request
Create a candidate with only the details needed, then send a secure, time-limited Know-M link.
Verify
The candidate sees who is asking and why, gives consent, then scans their ID and takes a selfie — on their phone or computer.
Decide
You get Verified, Review required, Unable to verify or Incomplete. Exceptions go to a person, with every action recorded.
Verification, not another background check.
You don't need a heavy screening platform to know the candidate is real. You need one simple place to answer the questions that matter before you represent someone.
- Is this the person I interviewed?
- Is this really their identity?
- Did they actually work where they say they worked?
- If the role involves driving, does their record meet the client's requirements?
Candidate applies → Recruiter sends Know-M link → Candidate verifies identity → Verified / Review required → Recruiter proceeds
“What can we discover about this person?”
“Can we verify that this candidate, and the credentials they present, are genuine?”
Built around consent, clarity and a clean audit trail.
Role-based access, encryption, data minimisation and clear retention rules — with notices and processes designed alongside employment-screening counsel.
How we handle candidate dataIs Know-M a background check company?
No. A background check asks what can be discovered about a person. Know-M asks whether the candidate, and the credentials they present, are genuine. Identity verification comes first; employment and driving-record checks are planned add-ons.
What does the candidate need to do?
Open the secure link on a phone or computer, review who requested the check and why, complete the notice and consent steps, then follow the guided identity check (usually an ID document and a selfie). Candidates can resume an incomplete check and get help if they are stuck.
What results will I see?
Verified, Review required, Unable to verify or Incomplete. These are workflow statuses, not hiring decisions. Anything needing review goes to an authorised person at your agency, never an automatic rejection.
